She has held Practicum placements at the Center for Brief Therapy as well as PCOM’s Family Medicine offices. Simone has experience working with children, adolescents and adults. She has treated clients with a variety of anxiety conditions including misophonia (selective sound sensitivity syndrome), Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Illness Anxiety Disorder, trauma, and perfectionism. In addition, Simone has treated clients with ADHD, depression, anger, chronic pain, and addiction. She has also worked on teaching clients’ specific behavioral skills including interpersonal effectiveness skills and assertive communication training.
Simone utilizes interventions that increase hope by educating clients on their symptoms and by teaching clients specific evidenced-based interventions. She also focuses on client values to help them align their behaviors with the things that are most important to them. She offers clients’ a non-judgmental and caring therapeutic experience that fosters acceptance and growth. In her free time, Simone volunteers for Black Men Heal, an organization that provides men with pro bono therapy in an effort to destigmatize and increase engagement in mental health treatment. Simone also enjoys spending downtime with friends and her large extended family.
