Dr. Mia Grosso (she/her) is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the CBT Center for Anxiety and OCD. She earned her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from The State University of New York at Binghamton. She then completed her Predoctoral internship at Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems, where she supported clients across the lifespan navigating a broad range of challenges, identity concerns and major life transitions.
Dr. Grosso utilizes evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help clients lead lives of greater meaning, vitality, and purpose, rather than ones reflective of their fears and anxieties. She has expertise in treating a variety of conditions including Generalized Anxiety Disorder, social anxiety, specific phobias, Panic Disorder, agoraphobia and all OCD themes. Dr. Grosso is skilled at treating PTSD and trauma using Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Additionally, she has received specialized training in Habit Replacement Therapy (HRT) for BFRBs (trichotillomania, excoriation), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). Dr. Grosso enjoys working with co-occurring conditions like autism and depression.
Dr. Grosso’s therapeutic style is warm and person-centered. She meets clients where they are and fosters their strengths to support the change process. Whether she’s working with adolescents or adults, she strives to foster a collaborative partnership with her clients, one rooted in curiosity and the belief that meaningful change is possible.
Outside the therapy room, Mia enjoys painting, crafts and reading. She’s always up for a creative project or a cozy corner with a good book.
