Joy Nissen, M.A.

Joy Nissen, M.A., is an Advanced Masters Level Clinician and fourth-year Doctoral Candidate at Widener University’s Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology. She has academic concentrations in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Additionally, Joy is working towards her MBA at Widener University. She was awarded the prestigious Tilelli Leadership Fellowship for her ongoing research focusing on the efficacy of executive coaching, drawing on her expertise in the fields of both psychology and business. Joy is passionate about supporting clients experiencing anxiety, OCD, BFRBs and other related disorders. She collaboratively works with clients to help them develop evidence-based coping strategies to build resilience and improve quality of life. Her lived multicultural experiences and various clinical experiences have allowed Joy to be exceptionally attune to understanding the cultural factors each person brings to therapy. In her free time, Joy enjoys listening to podcasts, trying out new food recipes, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
