Raquel L. Johnson-DeVera, Psy.D.

Dr. Raquel L. Johnson-DeVera is a Psychology Fellow at the CBT Center for Anxiety and OCD. She earned her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from La Salle University. Dr. Johnson-DeVera has earned two additional advanced graduate degrees including a Master’s degree in Counseling and Clinical Health Psychology from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from La Salle University. 

 

Dr. Johnson-DeVera has worked extensively with adults with anxiety disorders including Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorder (PD), Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) and trichotillomania.  She also has extensive experience successfully treating trauma related stress and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), grief and bereavement, adjustment disorders, adult Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), mood disorders, and depression. She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety related disorders, depression, and PTSD. Dr. Johnson-DeVera utilizes a multitude of evidence-based therapies such as Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

 

Therapy with Raquel is collaborative and focused on treating the whole person. She is empathetic, compassionate, and aims to empower individuals to feel confident and able to achieve their treatment goals. She has experience working with individuals from young adulthood to geriatrics with a diverse background of cultures, religions, racial identity, sexual orientation and identity, military status, and life experiences. Raquel enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, playing video games, and going on new adventures.
